Join Coach Snyder...Take the Challenge
Coaches Bill Snyder and Tom Osborne are at it once again, but this time they are fighting to bring home a different kind of win - a win for our youth. The Coaches have issued a friendly wager to see which state, Kansas or Nebraska, can recruit the most new mentors during the 2009 football season.

When will the winner be announced?
On November 21, the winning state will be announced at the K-State Nebraska football game in Lincoln, NE. Last year Kansas was announced the winner and we are hopeful to bring home another win this fall.

How will the "recruits" (new mentors) be calculated?
Each month, mentoring programs around the state will submit the previous month's new mentor recruit totals to Kansas Mentors, the entity in charge of Kansas' count. Numbers may be submitted by completing the Recruit Tracking Form.
New mentor "recruit" totals are due on the following dates:

How can mentoring programs promote the challenge?
To help mentoring programs promote the challenge and recruit new mentors, Kansas Mentors has developed a promotional toolkit. Items can be customized and used to promote your program's activities throughout the challenge. For questions on how to download/customize materials, contact Kansas Mentors at mentor@kdheks.gov or 785.296.8873. In addition, radio and TV PSAs have been distributed statewide, contact us for copies.
