About Kansas Mentors
“Providing every young Kansan access to a caring and quality mentor.”

Kansas Mentors is a statewide mentoring partnership that connects existing mentoring programs with each other and serves as a resource center for communities wishing to start a program. Kansas Mentors works to promote the great mentoring opportunities found throughout the state and to find ways to recruit more Kansans to become part of these efforts. Kansas Mentors began as an initiative under former Governor Kathleen Sebelius and is currently led by Coach Bill Snyder.

The organization is a program of the Kansas Volunteer Commission and is housed within the Kansas State Department of Education. Kansas Mentors is served by an adisory council and the Kansas Volunteer Commission board and has approximately 200 mentoring programs that serve as partners.

All children deserve a caring adult role model in their lives to support and guide them; our mission is to help make this a reality.

Kansas Mentors Advisory Council

Composed of mentoring professionals from across the state, the Council provides guidance on the current issues facing mentoring efforts and the needs of communities wishing to start programs.
